Through the Fire began with a young girl's uneasiness from the touches while sitting on the lap of the perpetrator and sexual innuendos. She soon found ways to avoid at all costs from hiding in the bathroom to hurriedly passing by the abuser. The author learned to cope the best way she could as a little girl no older than 10 beginning an already difficult world alone. Despite suffering intense headaches every day, her Help came from God and His Way out through education. Excelling in school was her motivator and gave her some peace of her worthiness. That little girl is Dr. Marie Youngblood of Through the Fire Global Ministry
